Offering in person therapy sessions in Carlton, Melbourne

and online across Australia

Life can be complicated

Sometimes the challenges we face are obvious. Other times, there is a deeper layer influencing how we experience relationships, family, work, grief, life transitions, or the choices we make about our future.

For many people, culture, identity and belonging are woven throughout these experiences.

Questions about where you fit, how you see yourself, and how others see you can quietly shape the way you move through the world.

I offer a warm, collaborative space where we can make sense of what is happening and help you move towards a life that feels more aligned with who you are and how you want to live.

Areas of support

I work with people experiencing:

  • Anxiety

  • Stress and Burnout

  • Feeling Overwhelmed

  • Sadness and Depression

  • Grief

  • Relationship Difficulties

  • Family Conflict

  • Trauma and Intergenerational Trauma

  • Surviving Political Conflict

  • Loneliness and Isolation

  • Navigating Cultural Complexities

  • Living With More Joy

Together, we can explore what is happening in your life, build understanding around your experiences, and find ways forward that feel meaningful for you.

My approach

I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself.

My approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own life.

I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, Harmonic Brain Healing, Mindfulness and Breathwork, while always tailoring therapy to your individual needs.

I also work from a trauma-informed and intersectional framework, recognising that every person's experiences, identities and circumstances are unique.

Hi, I’m Bahar or Chelsea, depending on which half of my family you ask.

I understand what it can be like to live between cultures

My name is both Bahar and Chelsea, depending on which half of my family you ask. My Turkish family calls me Bahar and my American family calls me Chelsea.

I was born in the US, grew up between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia, and have spent much of my life moving between different countries and cultures before eventually making Melbourne home.

Through my own experience, I understand some of the complexities of being multicultural, including navigating different cultural and family expectations and sometimes feeling like you don't completely belong in any one place.

Your experience will be uniquely yours, but you won't need to explain to me why living between cultures can sometimes feel complicated

“I believe there are many benefits to building a trusting therapeutic relationship and collaboratively tailoring therapy to meet your individual needs. I also believe every human being has the capacity to heal. Sometimes accessing that resilience can be difficult to do on our own, and that is where our journey together can begin.”
