When you have nothing left to give

Burnout can creep up slowly.

You keep going because you have to. There are responsibilities to manage, people relying on you, and things that need to get done. Over time, however, it can begin to feel as though the energy, motivation and enjoyment you once had are becoming harder and harder to find.

You may feel exhausted no matter how much you rest. Small tasks can feel bigger than they should. Things that once felt manageable now feel overwhelming. You may notice yourself becoming more cynical, irritable, disconnected, or simply wondering how long you can keep going like this.

Burnout does not only happen at work.

It can develop through parenting, caring for family members, relationship difficulties, major life changes, or the accumulation of stress across multiple areas of life.

Understanding what is happening

Burnout is often a sign that you have been carrying too much for too long.

When we are constantly giving our time, energy and attention to others, it can become difficult to recognise our own needs. Eventually, our minds and bodies start letting us know that something needs to change.

This does not mean you are failing or not coping well enough.

Often, burnout is a reflection of how much you have been managing, rather than a reflection of who you are.

How therapy can help

When we work together, we can take the time to understand what is contributing to your burnout and what may help you move forward.

I take a collaborative approach, helping you explore the pressures, expectations and patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we can identify what is within your control, what is not, and where meaningful change may be possible.

My goal is not simply to help you get through another week. It is to help you create a life that feels more sustainable, manageable and aligned with what matters to you.

Finding your way back to yourself

Many people describe burnout as feeling disconnected from themselves and the things they once enjoyed.

Over time, it is possible to reconnect with what brings meaning, joy and fulfilment to your life. To feel more energised, more present, and more able to engage with the people and activities that matter most.

Life does not have to feel this heavy forever.
