Accessing the brain's natural ability to heal

Have you ever found yourself looking off into space while trying to recall a memory or make sense of a complicated experience?

This eye position is known as a brainspot, and Brainspotting uses these brainspots to help access and process experiences that may be stored deeper within the brain and body.

Life can be hard.

You may be experiencing sadness, anxiety, stress, difficult memories, grief, relationship challenges, physical pain, or simply a sense that something is holding you back from living with greater ease. Brainspotting is a therapeutic tool that can help you heal.

Many people find that this process helps create new neural pathways and allows them to experience relief, clarity and a greater sense of peace.

A client-led approach

One of the things I value most about Brainspotting is that it is led by you.

You do not need any special skills or experience. The process simply involves using your eyes to follow a pointer while paying attention to what is happening within your mind and body.

Some people like to talk throughout the process. Others prefer not to. Both approaches are completely okay.

Part of my role is to notice what your body may be communicating, even when you are not consciously aware of it, so we can identify the brainspots that may be connected to what you are experiencing and start building new neural pathways.

Throughout the session, I will regularly check in with you so we can monitor how you are feeling and how the process is unfolding.

A gentle way to process difficult experiences

Brainspotting does not require you to relive the full intensity of past experiences or talk about things you are not ready to discuss.

Instead, we work together in a calm, supportive environment that allows your brain and body to process information in a different way.

Many people appreciate that they can engage in meaningful therapeutic work without feeling pressured to explain every detail of their experiences.

Moving towards greater peace

Brainspotting can be used to support a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, trauma, grief, stress, relationship difficulties and emotional overwhelm.

Over time, many people find that experiences that once felt stuck begin to feel more manageable. They often report feeling lighter, calmer, relieved and more able to engage with life in the way they would like.

At its heart, Brainspotting is about helping your mind and body access their natural capacity for healing and moving towards a greater sense of peace.
