When everything feels like too much
Stress and overwhelm often build gradually.
You keep managing what is in front of you. One responsibility becomes another. One decision becomes ten. Before long, it can feel as though there is never enough time, energy or space to catch your breath.
You may find yourself constantly thinking about what needs to be done next. Your body feels tense. Your jaw is clenched. You struggle to switch off, even when you have the chance to rest. Things that once felt manageable now feel harder than they should.
Sometimes it can feel as though you have been going, going, going for so long that your mind and body simply cannot keep up anymore.
Understanding what is happening
Stress is a normal part of life.
However, when stress continues for long periods of time, our minds and bodies can begin to respond as though everything requires our immediate attention. We can become stuck in a state of constant alertness, making it difficult to slow down, think clearly, or feel fully present.
Often, overwhelm is not caused by one thing. It is the accumulation of many things over time.
When we take the time to understand what is contributing to your stress, it becomes easier to identify what needs to change and what support may help.
How therapy can help
When we work together, I can help you better understand the patterns contributing to your stress and overwhelm.
My approach is collaborative and practical. Together, we can explore what is placing pressure on you, what may be keeping you stuck, and how to create more space for yourself amongst life's demands.
Along the way, I can also help you build strategies and tools to support your nervous system when stress begins to take over.
Finding more balance
“Stress may always be part of life, but it does not have to run your life.”
Many people come to therapy because they want things to feel more manageable.
Over time, it is possible to feel calmer, more grounded and less consumed by everything that needs your attention. You may find yourself responding to challenges with greater clarity, feeling more present in your day-to-day life, and having more energy available for the people and activities that matter most.
