Family Life can be complicated

Building a family is delightful, difficult, beautiful, exhausting and deeply meaningful at the same time.

The individuals I work with generally arrive at my doorstep holding too much for too many people. You might be feeling angry, sad, overwhelmed and unsure of who you are anymore. More often than not, you are the one who care for the emotional wellbeing of your family. You are the glue. You are the one putting everyone else’s needs before your own…and you lose space for yourself in the process.

There are many reasons parents reach out. It might because you are pregnant and afraid of birth. Or because your relationship is just not the same post birth. Maybe you are trying to understand what is really going on with your baby or toddler. Beneath the surface, there is often more needing air.

Parents come to me feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, guilty, lost, angry and burned out from the endless cycle of pushing through even when their tanks are running on empty.

I walk alongside you to navigate the messiness of parenthood. Together we will be curious about the emotional terrain you are navigating and how to best reconnect with yourself and feel more joy and stability again. Not by doing more but by having a space for you to just breathe. To put down the load you’ve been carrying. To focus on yourself for a change. And most importantly, to start to feel better again.

My approach

I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself.

My approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own life.

I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, Harmonic Brain Healing, Mindfulness and Breathwork, while always tailoring therapy to your individual needs.

I also work from a trauma-informed and intersectional framework, recognising that every person's experiences, identities and circumstances are unique.

Hi, I’m Chelsea

My name is Chelsea (she/her). I am a therapist, woman, mother and partner. I was born in the US, grew up between Türkiye and Saudi Arabia, and have spent much of my life moving between different countries and cultures before eventually making Melbourne home. In my spare time, I love to take dance classes, spend time outside with friends, and read next to my rescue cat.

“I believe there are many benefits to building a trusting therapeutic relationship and collaboratively tailoring therapy to meet your individual needs. I also believe every human being has the capacity to come back to themselves and heal. ”
